Minehead Town Council - Wellington Square

The Council Offices and the Town Hall

Minehead Town Council moved to new premises at the Council Offices, 3 Summerland Road, Minehead TA24 5BP on Thursday 20 April 2017.

Minehead’s Town Hall was formerly at the old Market House building in The Parade (formerly known as Puddle Street), in the centre of the town. This is a Grade II Listed building, designed by W .J Tamlyn, and it was completed in 1902. It was constructed as a covered market to replace an earlier and much smaller market house building on the site, and was one of a number of improvements made to Minehead at the turn of the new century. The Market House building is now home to a café and a retail unit with the former Town Council offices on its mezzanine and upper floors, including the Council Chamber where all meetings were held. The year 2002 marked the centenary of the building of the Market House. In some early photographs, you can still see the balcony which was constructed around the Clock Tower above the Market House. 

The Meetings

Minehead Town Council's Full Council Meetings usually take place at the Community Centre, Irnham Road Recreation Ground, Minehead TA24 5DW. Committee Meetings are often held at the Council Offices, 3 Summerland Road, Minehead TA24 5BP. Agendas, including the location of the meeting's are advertised in the Town Council's window at the Council Offices and are also shared online. 
​The press and public are invited to attend meetings of the Town Council and are able to view all public information, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Town Council welcomes comments from members of the public. Please contact the Town Clerk or speak directly to your Councillor.
