After an intensive two-stage public consultation process spanning 2023 and early 2024, the collective landowners of the picturesque Wootton Ridge have unveiled a 10-year management plan that aims to strike a harmonious balance between preserving the area's ecological splendour and accommodating the recreational needs of the local community. This comprehensive management plan encompasses the ridge's cherished open spaces, including the breath taking Wootton Courtenay, Hopcott Common, Alcombe Common, and Grabbist Hill.
The finalised management plan is a testament to the landowners' dedication to safeguarding Wootton Ridge's natural heritage for generations to come. By actively soliciting and incorporating feedback from a diverse array of stakeholders – including local residents, conservation groups, recreational organisations, and subject matter experts – the plan seamlessly integrates ecological preservation, sustainable recreation, and public involvement.
