The Old Mineral Line
The Old Mineral Line runs from Watchet to Washford and was once used to transport mined iron ore, from the Brendon Hills, back into the port of Watchet to be shipped to Wales. Although closed in 1910, the route of the old track can still be traced on foot. The Old Mineral Trail starts at the Esplanade at Watchet and continues past the Paper Mill, through the fields, to Washford Station.

The Coleridge Way
Walk in the footsteps of the romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Opened in April 2005, the 36-mile long Coleridge Way starts at Coleridge Cottage in Nether Stowey, where Coleridge once lived. The trail takes you from the Quantock Hills to Porlock on the coast of Exmoor, passing through wild heathland, wooded valleys and the beauty of the Brendon Hills. A keen walker himself, Coleridge reputedly walked the complete route in one day!
