![]() Somerset County Council District of Somerset West and Taunton District Parish of Minehead CP Temporary Closure of Periton Lane TAKE NOTICE that in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the County Council of Somerset propose to make an Order PROHIBITING ALL TRAFFIC from proceeding along Periton Lane for a distance of approximately 10 metres. This order will enable Wessex Water to carry out Sewer repair and new chamber works. The Order becomes effective on 10th July 2020 and will remain in force for eighteen months. This order will enable BT Openreach to carry out poling works. The Order becomes effective on 27 June 2020 and will remain in force for eighteen months. As this section of road is narrow, the road will need to be closed for a period of time in order to get the machinery through. The agreed closure dates and times are:- • Monday 15th June 2020 between 09:30am and 12:30pm (3 hours) • Tuesday 16th June 2020 between 09:30am and 12:30pm (3 hours) The diversion for heavy vehicles will be from Williton to Taunton via Bridgwater, using the A39 and A38. Light vehicles will be able to use the B3190 and B3224 via Raleghs Cross in order to avoid the closed section of A358. During these periods the number 28 Taunton to Minehead bus service will avoid the section of A358 between Bishops Lydeard and Williton and instead divert via Raleghs Cross. ![]() At its Statutory Annual Full Council meeting on 2 June 2020 Minehead Town Council elected Cllr Paul Bolton as Chair of the Council and Mayor for 2020-2021. Cllr Bolton is the Independent Councillor for Alcombe South Ward. He looks forward, when lockdown conditions permit, to continuing the Mayor's Coffee mornings which have proved very popular. ![]() The Finance and Staffing Committee meeting scheduled to take place on Monday 8 June 2020 and the Amenities and Environment meeting scheduled for Tuesday 9 June 2020 have been cancelled. Business for these meetings will be carried forward to the next Finance and Staffing Committee meeting on 13 July 2020 and the next Amenities and Environment Committee meeting on 14 July 2020. The next Full Council meeting is on 30 June 2020. |
