
The Royal British Legion Remembrance Week Commemorating the Centenary of World War 1, commenced with a dedication of the Garden of Remembrance in Wellington Square, the service was at 12 noon on Sunday 2nd November. The above photograph is by kind permission of Paul Scullion Photographer.
The Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service was held on the following Sunday on the 9th November 2014 and commemorated the Centenary of World War 1.
On Sunday 9th November there was a service at the Alcombe Memorial at Manor Road in Alcombe at 12 noon followed by the Remembrance Sunday Parade musters at the Royal British Legion (Branch Headquarters), Bancks Street, Minehead at 2.30 pm. Following the musters there was a church service at The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Townsend Road in Minehead at 3.00 pm. After the service members made their way up to the War Memorial on North Hill where the Mayor of Minehead Cllr Leslie Smith laid a wreath at the War Memorial on North Hill.
