Cllr Les Smith the new Mayor of Minehead was invited to attend the Guinness World Record attempt as part of International Food Revolution Day as an independent witness for Minehead First School. Leading chef Jamie Oliver led the UK campaign to break the record for the most people taking part in a cookery lesson in 24 hours. Every Pupil, from the youngest aged 4 years, with help from parents and teachers all took part. After viewing a cookery lesson on the internet participants had to prepare their own tortilla wrap filled with various salad fruit and vegetables. Food Revolution day is a fresh food initiative designed to help children understand the importance of fresh food and healthy eating in the global environment.
