On the 20th October 2015, the Mayor Mrs Jean Parbrook was invited to present certificates by Active Plus and was met on arrival at Minehead Fire Station by Ashley Gordon (Course Leader). Active Plus is an organisation which offers six week courses to the unemployed, disabled and people returning to work. The courses increase their self confidence and self esteem to enable them to get work and cope with every day life. The presentations took place in the Community Room at Minehead Fire Station
The Mayor of Chard Cllr Dave Bulmer invited the Mayor of Minehead Cllr Jean Parbrook and her husband Cllr Andrew Parbrook to join him in the main procession at Chard Carnival. Each Mayor was asked to wear Mayoral robes and chains. Mayors taking part in the main procession met at the Guildhall at 5.45pm to walk with the Mayor of Chard Cllr Dave Bulmer to the start of the procession. Guests not taking part were able to watch the procession from the balcony of the Guildhall. Refreshments were provided in the Town Hall before the Official Judging by the Carnival Committee in the Auditorium afterwards.
The Mayor, Cllr Jean Parbrook, was pleased to be asked to attend the annual Minehead Flower & Produce Show on 8 August for the presentation of cups and awards.
The Chapter of Wells Cathedral invited The Mayor Cllr Jean Parbrook and her husband Cllr Andrew Parbrook to a Service of Thanksgiving and Reflection at Harvest Time. Young Farmers, Wells Cathedral School and representatives from rural life in Somerset also attended the service. A supper was provided after the service at Wells Town Hall at 7.pm and was hosted by Somerset Young Farmers.
