
![]() The Mayor, Councillor Sandra Slade, and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Paul Bolton, attended the Somerset County Council Chair's Awards for Community Service event at Taunton Rugby Club on 4 July. Awards were given to nominees from all areas of the County, including West Somerset, and it was inspiring to hear of the dedication and far-reaching scope of volunteering and service given to the community. Early next year the Mayor will be asked to nominate volunteers for the 2020 awards, so if you know of anyone you think should be nominated, please do contact the Town Council office
On Saturday 13 July the Mayor had the great pleasure and privilege of attending the "Flight of the Bumble Band" concert at The Regal Theatre to raise funds for the mobile chemotherapy unit which regularly visits Minehead. A packed audience saw a wonderful display of talent, with performers of all ages and abilities taking part in a varied and enjoyable programme. The Mayor commented: "West Somerset is fortunate indeed to have so much talent to draw on. Congratulations to everyone who took part in a really special event".
![]() The Deputy Mayor, Cllr. Paul Bolton, together with Councillors. Toni Bloomfield and Craig Palmer, hosted the first half of the Mayor's Coffee Morning on 3rd July. A lively group of ladies attended who had various questions and comments to discuss with the Councillors before the Mayor joined them for the last hour. Frank discussion and chat was held, covering subjects such as Blenheim Gardens and Council organisation and services. The Mayor thanks Paul, Toni and Craig for their help and reminds all residents they are welcome to join her for coffee on the first Wednesday of each month at The Old Hospital in The Avenue." |
