On the 29th March 2011 at Cross Farm Park, Councillors and well wishers gathered for the dedication of a plaque to former Town and District Councillor Brian Blackmore in recognition of Brian's service to the community. The Mayor Cllr. Ron Bridle unveiled the plaque, there were also tributes from people who knew Brian.
On Saturday 26th March 2011, the Mayor of Minehead Cllr. Ron Bridle attended the Minehead Street Pastors Commissioning Service at The Avenue Methodist Church in Minehead, the service started at 7.00pm. The project was first launched at an event in Mambo's in September 2010. Street Pastors are volunteers from local churches who will patrol the Town Centre in pairs, they will patrol on Saturday nights only and if there is any trouble they will contact the police.
On Sunday 20th March 2011, the Mayor of Minehead Cllr. Ron Bridle and his wife Harriet attended the legal service for those concerned with the administration of justice in Somersetland. During the service the new High Sheriff Mr John Cullum was sworn in, he succeeds Mrs Patricia Hunt MP.
On Tuesday 15th March 2011, the Mayor of Minehead Cllr. Ron Bridle and his wife Harriet attended the opening of the new office of Abercorn Surveyors Ltd, 5, Holloway Street, Minehead between the hours of 5.00 and 8.00pm.
On Sunday 13th March 2011, The Mayor of Minehead Cllr. Ron Bridle attended a civic service of thanksgiving for Wells at St Cuthberts Church in Wells after being invited to attend by The Mayor of Wells Cllr. Tony Robbins. During the service presentations were made for service in the community which were presented by the High Sheriff of Somerset Mrs Pat Hunt JP. After the service tea was served.
