The Around Britain Challenge supports two charities, 4Louis and Orchid. The photograph shows the Deputy Mayor Andrew Kingston-James greeting David Atkin and the team at the meeting point next to the Jubilee Clock on Minehead Sea Front on Friday 5th August 2016.

David Atkin and his team embarked on the Around Britain Challenge an epic 3000 mile ride around Britain by motorbike on the 31st July, starting at Washington Wetlands, Pattinson Road, Washington NE38 8LE.  They undertook this challenge to  raise awareness of the work carried out by 4Louis and Orchid and to fund raise for the two charities along the route. Minehead was the fourth leg on their epic journey around the UK. Other members of the team were Hugh Macleod, James Macleod, Adrian Watson, Jason Parker and Jamie Stocks.

The Deputy Mayor of Minehead Cllr Andrew Kingston-James met with David Atkins and his team on Minehead sea front next to the Jubilee Clock. The team hoped to attract a large audience as they are trying to raise £5,000 for the charities.

Each team member had a validation booklet which was date stamped and signed for on the day so that they could prove they completed the challenge and also later provide them with a keepsake for them to look back on.
